PROJECT PROPOSAL
I. Identifying Information
Project Title : Feeding Program
Proponent : Sangguniang Barangay
Location : Barangay Health Center
Implementing Period : May 2017
Beneficiaries : 25 boys/25 girls malnourished children
Total Project cost : PHP 40,000.00
Funding Source : GAD Fund

II. Background and Rationale

Moderately malnourished children can often be successfully rehabilitated on an
outpatient or domestic basis. Health Services of the the Barangay should always have
available foodstuff to rehabilitate these malnourished chilldren (25 boys / 25
girls). The patients are indigent and the prize of protein rich foods is high. Although
an old proverb says that boys are more eager when it comes to eating, still feeding
them equally and nutritiously is the best way to aid their dietary deficiency.
A child who does not receive essential nutritive elements can suffer from
malnutrition and will be exposed to serious health problems which can hamper their
healthy development.

III. Project Description

The Feeding program will start on May 14, 2015 wherein the Barangay will feed
the 60 children. The Sangguniang Barangay with the help of Barangay Health Worker
(BHW) and Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS), will provide breakfast, arrozcaldo to
be specific, for the malnourished every Saturday for 6(six ) months. This breakfast
should provide all nutrients that children at the age need to grow up in a healthy way.
Hence, breakfast is the important meal of the day.

IV. Project Goal and Object

 To provide adequate nutrition to malnourished children of the Barangay, as
the children are the direct recipients of this project.
 To provide the children with all the nutrients they need for a healthy growth.
 Batang busog…..Malusog ! project will train the children as well as their
parents on how to prepare appropriate foods with nutrients that the children
are needed after 6 months of implementing the aforementioned project.
V. Expected Output of the Project
After the implementation of the project, 25 boys and 25 girls will increase their
weight and eventually they will be healthy children. The Php 40,000.00 (Forty
Thousand pesos) allotted budget for the said program will be enough to feed 50
children for a month. The program promotes the equality simply because the
recipients are both boys and girls.
Supplemental feeding might encourage other organizations whose cause is for the
welfare of the children. The way out plan of the project is balance diet and right
preparation of food. Family grantees will be monitored on monthly basis as to the
gain of their children through the Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS).
